The Reykjanes peninsula is truly one of the most amazing wonders of nature in Iceland. Nowhere else can you see such a great combination of hot springs, lakes, mountains, moss-covered lava fields, big waves from the North Atlantic-ocean and other interesting places in less than a day. The moon like landscape was indeed a training ground for the first moon-expedition and Reykjanes has also been the most popular surf-spot for wave-thirsty locals and visiting surfers alike. The peninsula is without a doubt one of the most diverse areas in Iceland, and since it has Keflavik airport on one end and the capital Reykjavik on the other, we sometimes combine trips to there with an airport pick-up or drop off. (A trip to the Blue Lagoon can also be included*). The Reykjanes peninsula is where the tectonic plates of North America and Europe are visibly separating from each other, and we’ll be happy to take you between the two and back to town in a day.
